2001 back when Blueprint came out, Jay was the hottest. Everyone was bumping that album. Jay had the commercial appeal and the streets on lock. He also had one of the best battles in hip hop history with Nas during that era. So much impact we still making Jay vs Nas threads over a decade later:wow:. Blueprint is one of the most respected hip hop albums of the 2000s.

Nelly and Eminem sold more in that era but nobody was calling Nelly the best emcee and Eminem had that "I like Eminem but I don't like rap music" fanbase. Em didn't touch the hip hop culture like Jay did with Blueprint.

We still talkin bout Jay / Nas for one reason: Jay got Ethered.

That be like saying.... "Lebron is the Goat cus we still talking about how he choked in the Finals VS Dallas":what:

The sad part is, you talking, you really believe the shyt you saying.... But it's not coming out rationally... To give a nikka a boost in status cus HE TOOK AN L that HE STARTED is just :whoo::dead:

1996 - Pac, Nas
1997 - Biggie

1998 - 1) DMX 2) Lauryn 3) Jay-Z / Juvenile arguable (closest race ever... unfortunately, even if you lose by .001 seconds in the olympics, you still not getting that gold:wow: #GameOfInches)

1999 - DMX
2000 - Eminem / Nelly
2001 - Nas / Jay .... Edge goes to Nas since Jay got Ethered in the BIGGEST RAP BATTLE EVER #fact
2002 - Eminem, Nelly
2003 - 50 Cent, Outkast
2004 - 50 Cent
2005 - 50 Cent, Game, Kanye, Jeezy
2006 - T.I.
2007 - Kanye, 50 Cent
2008 - Lil Wayne, T.I.
2009 - Eminem, Lil Wayne
2010 - Lil Wayne, Drake, Eminem
2011 - Lil Wayne, Drake
2012 - Kendrick Lamar
2013 - Eminem, Drake

This is the list if you just want to go on who was "hottest" that year and not soley off sales / WHEN an album was dropped....

Still not seeing anything for Sean:ld:

If that's the case then how is the one who got "ether'd" more relevant than the one who did the ethering :stopitslime:

If it wasn't for Reasonable Doubt, I'd have zero respect for Jay as a rapper.

"Can I live" is one of my favorite songs of all time.

nikka actually had a soul back then, but it's been a steady decline since

How y'all allow this man to dumb down his music and still have the audacity to call him the GOAT?:wtf:

Notice Jay's spike in 2013.... That's magna carta... .. Notice his spike in 2009.... That's Blueprint 3....

Everytime something "goes down" and people start searching on "google" to figure out what it is... Thats a 80 to 90% indicator of what is "hot".. (shyt, 99% indicator.... Google = the world)..

Sad thing is, even with his Spikes, he still never passed Eminem or Wayne in their primes....

**Notice How Wayne Passed Eminem a few years..... TRULY THE HOTTEST RAPPER IN THE GAME... Eminem "Stan" base be damned... When a nikka is hot, people get to googling....***

*Poster wants an instant platinum thread*

*Poster regurgitates some bullshyt repetitive theme regarding Nas/Jay-Z/Drake/Kendrick*

*Posters argue back and forth, resorting in at least the last 3-4 pages culminating In a Stan war*

When we apply the SAME logic / facts to Jigga stans, it's "hating":usure:.... and they bring up his "longevity" .... :pachaha:

By the way... Jordan also lead the league in scoring 10 times.... (yea, 10..) Thats something we are saying Jay NEVER DID, but, he's "Mike jordan of Mic recording"? :ld:..... More like AC Green?:ld:
