Maybe he's not qualified. Has he even been a high ranking assistant or associate head coach?
At this point I low key think teams he assisted on were probably doing him a solid.
he has been the associate hc in Charlotte for years.id imagine if he actually added anything of note during scouting/strategy meetings for upcoming matchups hed get a shot. probably doesnt provide jack shyt in that regard, which is what a head coach would be looked at to provide, at least on occasion. so they keep him in the hands on type shyt for post players
Can you do the same for Derek Fisher??Can anyone provide anything he's done as an assistant that would give a team a reason to hire him?

I believe it's a combination of things:
1.His demeanor(not attractive, does not have an outgoing personality)
2.Lack of fluid communication skills(has Hesitant speech)
3.Is not media friendly(did not like talking to media when he played)
4.was an intense/intimidating basketball player(rarely smiled)
5.Racial bias/think he's dumb(The big darkskin black man who has facial features like a monkey)
And i'm saying all of this with Patrick Ewing being my favorite basketball player of all-time.
All of these...adding big man coaching bias. But as long as players trust him, he'll be fine. And Ewing is no pushover. Plus if he was the NYK head coach, he got Oak there in his corner, Starks, H20...
He should've definitely been home years ago. Before Mike Woodson & Fisher got that job.
Go watch his kid play.
If you're an NBA player and you have a kid with legit nba size and athleticism who turns out to be a talentless bum, I'm not hiring you to try and teach the guys on my team![]()
he has been the associate hc in Charlotte for years.
His interview skills probably garbage plus big man bias.
Kings shoulda hired him, at least we know Boogie wouldn't just be punking him.
I personally don't care I was just trippin off him acting like he has never been higher then a regular assistant obviously their is something about him teams don't like that we probably won't learn about until he is dead to be honest.Three years and the records weren't exactly stellar either. That is what is keeping him from an HC position. Team's lukewarm success in his staffing roles.
Might be wrong because I don't known all of his prior teams but I'd guess that is it.
Can anyone provide anything he's done as an assistant that would give a team a reason to hire him?
One of the main reasons I hope Ty Lue gets a title this year, even though the media won't credit him as a good coach despite what he's done with that team.I'm personally sick of seeing the image of a group of black men huddling around a white man for direction and guidance. League has been 70%-75% black for awhile now, there should be waaaaay more blacks in coach/assistant coach roles.
Makes me furious seeing somebody like luke Walton getn a head coach job already
