I think they are trending in the right direction..they need to just have a great draft this year and get good FAs. Could be a pesky 6-8 win team next year if Bortles improves.

All head coaches were at one point hotshot coordinators, so why would giving Quinn a chance to prove himself be any different?

Your defense "looks" better because half your games are against back up QB's or bad QB's...
2 against St Louis...Backup QB both times.
2 against Cardinals...Backup QB's both times
1 against Philly...back up QB who was so bad before this year he got ran out of town for the last team he played with
2 against San Fran...Kap was so bad this year he was like a backup QB
1 against KC....Alex Smith never throws the ball downfield...did not throw a touchdown pass to a receiver all year in a year where more flags were thrown against defenses vs the pass ever...
16 games and 8 of them are against Backup QB's...3rd string QB's...and Qb's who are seriously flawed...
Any team in the league defensive numbers would look good if that was 8 of their 16 games...

Teryl Austin has a similar resume, DC for the Lions. Defense was ranked #2.

I've always had a thing against hiring people that are known for the same side of the ball as the HC. Carroll is a defensive coach and these are his players. Quinn is just chilling in the cut on the golf cart in practices.
