i was coming down a side street and got stuck in snow
I kept turning the key and the engine came back on
I went home, left the car running, and tried to go to work
Got stuck before I left my block and the car shut off again Trued to rev it up and the engine tried but wouldn’t start

The shop said I shouldn’t have kept trying to start it while I was stuck in the snow and that I fukked up the rev limiter
But that doesn’t explain why it shut off the first time

Your mechanic can tell you why your engine died.

Anything else is just a guess with limited information.

I didn’t feel like asking him again...but I remembered that piece of info and it doesn’t all line up

I’m going to have to buy a new car

I paid $4000 for mine
I seen a 06 for sale for $1000
I was like:stopitslime:

Get a second opinion if you don't mind paying for a tow.

you should keep a 20 pound bag of rice in your car at all times.
pop the hood and cover the engine in rice.
wait 10 minutes and then you are good to go.
Right? shyt died because OP didn't feed it. Put it through that much trouble, starve the engine, and wonder why it died :stopitslime:

Check your battery terminals for any corrosion and clean its connections with a steel brush/wool. Cheapest fix that might work.

How do you fukk up a rev limiter? :mjlol:

If you kept trying to start it in the snow you may have sucked snow or water into the engine.

Water does not compress. Engines need to be able to compress to run.

If the engine tries to compress water it will bend internal parts and no longer run.

Im just taking a shot in the dark tho. The rev limiter is a setting in the computer not an actual part. What you would have bent is called a connecting rod

Push your horn. If the horn doesn't blow it's the battery. If it does it's something else. Does your gas gauge work?
