They got back to the SB with some luck on their side during the game with greenbay. They need more weapons on offense asap.

They're gonna pay Russel Dilfer franchise money and lose depth and key players eventually

shyt, damn near every team in the NFC playoffs had a demoralizing L that could cripple a franchise.

I think they'll be fine but I don't have a clue about their cap situation and the # of free agents they have this off-season.
Durn if you ain't right. :ohhh:

Detroit loses on the picked-up PI flag to Dallas.

Dallas loses on the crazy catch/non-catch call to GB.

GB basically collapses at the end and gives it away to Seattle.

And Seattle....well, we all just saw what happened there.

I don't know if those Ls will necessarily "cripple" any of those teams...all of them have some combo of strong coaching/vet leadership/pure talent to keep that from happening. Sure wouldn't hurt if they had short memories, though.

Looks like Seattle might tie up 30 mill in 2 players....that will change some of they dynamic.
------------------------
Cap issues forced the Seahawks to stay out of the free-agent market last year in order to re-sign key players such as safetyEarl Thomas and cornerback Richard Sherman. General manager John Schneider told the Seattle Times this week that this offseason could be similar because the Seahawks want to sign Wilson to a contract extension.

Wilson is in the third year of his four-year rookie deal that pays him $662,434 with a cap number of $817,302.

But he can renegotiate that deal after this season, and there has been speculation he could receive a contract that pays him at least $20 million per year.

"It presents challenges, there is no question," Schneider told the Times. "We are still going to be drafting young players and playing young players, so we might not be able to dip into free agency like you may want to here and there or compensate somebody else that you want to compensate that is already on your team."

Seattle's lack of threats at the receiver position was well chronicled this season, but the Seahawks also lost some luster off their pass rush, finishing 20th in the league in sacks (37) after tying for eighth during their 2013 Super Bowl-winning season.

Starting left guard James Carpenter, receivers Lockette and Kearse, starting defensive tackle Kevin Williams and a host of key defensive reserves will be unrestricted free agents at the end of the season.

Maybe Seattle believes with Wilson and its elite secondary -- which will be without defesnive coordinator Dan Quinn, now off to be Atlanta's next head coach -- it has the talent to sustain success as its Super Bowl opponent has done for more than a decade.

"It's a similar situation to last year. Everybody has difficult discussions to make," Carroll said. "How will we make it back? One day at a time."

Maybe they will, but tomorrow is never promised in the NFL, so it's hard not to wonder about the opportunity Seattle squandered on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Seattle Seahawks not only want Marshawn Lynch around next year, but they've made a significant commitment to keep him on their team, possibly, for the rest of his career.

On the heels of another dominant season for the running back nicknamed "Beast Mode," multiple sources tell me Seattle has made Lynch an offer on a huge contract extension that would keep him in aSeahawks uniform for years to come.

The deal is believed to include more than $10 million for Lynch in the 2015 season alone. Lynch currently is slated to make $5 million in 2015, the final year of what originally was a four-year, $31 million deal.

The Seahawks believe that Lynch, who has rushed for at least 1,200 yards in each of the past four seasons, has outplayed his contract, sources say. They want to reward him for his work.

They'll always be elite as long as they have RW and that defense in tack. They must find some play makers on that offense even if Lynch re-signs. I don't know about going to three straight super bowls but they should be back in the next couple of years. Their main core is well under 30.

football is different. Can you even name the last team that went to 3 straight SBs? I don't think it's been done without googling
Buffalo Bills four without googling. However, they never won.

It's really going to come back to their scouting and drafting well. Will they get lucky again and find one of the best CBs in the league in the 5th round? Probably not. But they need to draft to fill these positions because they're not going to be able to afford to pay everyone

First and foremost, that NFC West is going to be a bloodbath next season.

It all depends on what they do in the draft, bringing back Marshawn and how much money Dilfer doesn't take from Seattle.

Can they do it? Yes, but it won't be easy.

Sir, let's not disrespect the scouting of Pete Carroll and call it luck. He saw Sherman and college and had to chance to coach against the kid, he obviously knew what he was capable of. Even though Carroll is a complete idiot for the decision he made last night, let's not doubt his drafting and ability to scout a player.

It was Mel Kiper who thought Seattle was "stupid" for taking Bruce Irvin 15th in the first round. Everyone knew that was a Carroll pick and look what Bruce has turned into.

Bloodbath, how?

If Arizona doesn't get a QB who can stay healthy all year round, they'll fizzle out exactly like this year.

San Francisco, well, don't make me laugh. The D will be the best thing they have going for em' but it definitely won't be up to par compared to previous years. And the offense, well again, don't make me laugh.

As far as St Louis; with me being a fan of the Titans, lemme just say now, if you're sitting around waiting for Jeff Fisher to take you to the promise land in today's game, then get cha casket &/or crematorium ready. They've been 2 years away from being 2 years away for at least 2 years now. Doing the same shyt we use to do.

A. Start off shytty then winning a good portion of the backend games to go 7-9, 8-8, no playoffs and shytty draft pick.

B. Start off good, lose backend of the games, go 7-9, 8-8, no playoffs, and shytty draft pick. Not to mention their QB issue.

I think Seattle will be fine.
