I remember that shyt. I also notice schools now days sorta don't say a whole lot but I have had to talk about this shyt with my kids and kept it 100.

I think they are just now really starting to figure out how to paint this part of american history and lessen the damage we did as a country so it's more PG for kids. The challenge is similar to explaining a rape to children while trying to protect their sensibilities.

Why did you post that dumb ass image.. The argument was that Columbus didn't discover .. Now can you name some explorers that discovered America before Columbus?

Cuz I I can't

because the OP posted about Columbus day in school and if you remembered it. THEN the thread started going down the direction of discussing who discovered america.

I don't know the names of the explorers but I would imagine the ancestors of damn near every Native American "discovered" america before Columbus.

You're talking about Paleo Indians and that was like 14,000 years ago when they crossed the Bering strait.. Those are the only people who knew.. I'm talking about discovering America for Europe Asia and Africa.. Can you imagine what it was like during that time of discovery?

There's also evidence to suggest Vikings were already here :manny:

Yeah I can and it sucked for a rather large population of people. But hey new land to conquer, what's not to love.

Never celebrated Columbus day. Went to an all black private school, every month was like black history month. Lil brehs was learning about Marcus Darvey and the Zulu nation in the 2nd grade :wow: We had a field trip to go see Rosewood :wow: I was 7. Knew from the jump Europeans came over and killed off Native Americans; we still made those finger turkey painting had those dress up parties doe. :obama: Still got my painting.

Just acknowledge the fact that without Columbus there is no United States of America, the greatest economic, military, and technological power in the history of the world.

They weren't systematically destroyed.,destroyed yes..but not systematically..most of the indigenous population died from small pox that an african slave brought over to Mexico..Europeans were already immune to small pox because they have lived with live stock their whole life since the Fertile Crescent...diseases come from live stock..the only live stock in Latin America are llamas
:snoop: just stop.
