Can we all admit that Life After Death is the greatest Hip Hop album of all time?

It’s a great album and a classic but it’s not even the GOAT double disk. That’s all eyes on me.

And I prefer big to pac on a day to day basis.

I’ve always loved Big’s albums, features, and freestyles but, as a rapper, I never like in any of my mental “favorites” categories. It wasn’t until was grown, casually playing the “L.A.D., mid-way through “Kick in The Door” that it really clicked for me. The flow and world play on that song never gets old. Add “Unbelievable” to that too.

I love “All Eyez On Me” more, but I can sometimes burn out from having played it so much since its’ release. I never get burned out playing L.A.D though.

Probably an extremely unpopular opinion, but I wish “I love the Dough” was switched with “Brooklyns Finest” lol. I feel like they fit better on their respective albums that way.

I gave a well reasoned response to this question years ago in the thread, but now that it's back on the front page I'll just say no we certainly cannot say that. fukk this bloated, unfocused mess of an album

It's the greatest double album ever.

Facts.

Easily the greatest double Hip Hop album ever. LAD was a damn masterpiece. The classic songs on here are so flawless that you forget about the filler. BIG was next level at just 24 years old on his second album. Imagine how crazy his music would've been in just a few years. It's wild to think about.

it’s all good

I enjoy debating with y’all sometimes so I’m just going and forth for the sake of conversation

That said, I don’t think those songs are filler but we agree to disagree and it’s all good
Most def, that's what we are here for. LAD is like a damn movie...like Godfather part 4 or some shyt.

It's up there for me. I always say, disc one just by itself is better than a lot of rappers best album. And disc two got a bunch of classic tracks despite being more uneven.

It was the template for major label east coast albums the next five years or so and nobody came close to matching it.

Not just the east coast bro. All artists at the time were copying that template trying to give a little something to all regions but none were doing that at Big's level
