If you use the same password and username on multiple sites, if one site gets hacked, they immediately try google and shyt. The best thing to do is have different usernames and passwords for everything. I don't really do that, but that's the best way to do it.

You can't stop hackers from hacking other sites. That's how your info gets exposed.

they could have compromised another site that you use same the password for. thats usually how people's Gmail gets compromised

Your phone may have let the info out. You ever use free wifi and then log into your accounts? People can set up fake wifi spots with their phones and get all your info.

WPA2 + good local router password.

If you use N for WiFi make sure it's set to AES or it will like to kill network speeds.
