This is more like when you vote for Obama expecting "change". But instead get the same status quo. Difference being Obama never presented himself as pro black,conscience or militant. And Kendrick was never facing the threat of being assasinated so was forced to play it safe.

I was going for Kendrick during the battle despite your little narrative. But we have yet to him go on a warpath on the ignorance in hiphop like we were promised.
