you know how influence works tho. Its not always good. Usually, somebody drops an innovative style and sharks run that shyt into the ground.

Its like T-pain begats Future who begats 100 whack, mumbling nikkas misusing auto-tune.

You can trace lineages back to anybody and it will always have the same end result ..There's an originator, then there's a few dope offspring, then everybody else does terrible renditions of it til it aint cool no more and next originator changes the game. Circle of life shyt.
That's a fair point. But it seems like people are contending that 36 birthed all of these styles that followed...crunk trap, etc.
You could argue that somebody like Marly Marl birthed Primo, Large Pro, Havoc, etc. All of that is classic music. Everything stemming from 36 has been :trash:
I'm speaking in very broad generalities here...
36 has some great songs...

That's a huge overstatement considering the influence Eightball & MJG had on trap rap. Before people were really up on Three Six, it was Eightball & MJG who really kicked in the door in that regard. Coming Out Hard is one of the most influential albums in Southern Hip Hop. From Master P to T.I. to Jeezy to Gucci.

Trap rap BEEN a theme in every region of the south that was putting out records. UGK, KiloG, MasterP,BG, Kingpin Skinny Pimp,Project Pat, Tommy Wright 3rd, Poison Clan, UNLV etc

its all subjective tho. shyt you calling classic, I dont fukk with at all. See how that work.

Case in point. You got Mobb Deep in your avi. I got one Mobb song in my itunes and its cause Lil Jon on it.They just not my cup of kool-aid.

Meanwhile, I got 400 Degreez in my avi. You may think that shyt trash. Alotta people do.Its my favorite rap album of all-time.
I'm not into most of this new shyt but somebody is obviously. Its classic to them. To each his own:manny:

We don't have the proper context to judge modern music for historical comparisons as it's happening in real time.

I'm sure alot of old heads and pioneers from the 70's/80's felt alot of what was being put out in the 90's during the 90's was :trash: shyt that alot of you consider "classic" & "iconic" today. And i'm sure i can back this up with quotes.

Didn't Q-Tip give it up to the migos btw? Said their shyt was flames. And there are alot of "greats" in hip-hop that rate alot of todays rappers...some which are 3-6 offshoots very highly.

Most of the shyt being put out today is :trash: TO ME

But i'm supposed to think this cus i'm :flabbynsick:

But the beats are usually FIRE...and in large part, we can thank 3-6 for that. :jawalrus:

Yeah absolutely. Whether or not something is classic is all consensus.

Nah, he's actually right. Many of the pioneers from even the 70's thought the progression to the 80's killed HipHop. We know this exists in other music genres for example, Trad New Orleans jazz pioneers thought New York Swing killed Jazz and both thought 1940's Bebop Jazz was terrible.

Don't care about other genres. This is hip hop.

I need that Whitney.
