when I look and listen to mainstream hip hop today I can't help but here Juciy J & Dj Paul production

Content that emphasizes heavy pill usage and syrup sipping

Lyrics that are chant heavy with slowed 16 and sometimes 12s and 8s.

The hypnotize mind movement is seriously undervalued and undervalued. Their style has been recycled and used by so many from all regions

2 Chainz
A$AP
Migos
Wayne
Thug & Quan
Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz
Kanye West

If these brothers were from Compton or Brooklyn they would be hailed as hip hop icons. They've had a transformational impact on hip hop and it's like you would never know

Paul was spitting at his highest level in a technical sense on "a person of interest" though

Listen to the wordplay, similies & entendres on this track...there's even a triple in here

I refer you to this post.

Alot of their best beats were made POST lil pat...including all the shyt on Mista Dont Play. He was the engineer mainly.

Most Known Unknown/Last 2 Walk/Scale a Ton era Paul TERRIBLE for the most part...doing all that screaming and shyt.

But he re-found his stride on "person of interest" & the "for i have sinned" mixtape along with da mafia 6ix mixtape...but now...he's back to :flabbynsick:

Paul had a unique, signature sound in his prime (Juice too) it's hard for me to believe somebody was writing for them back then...although Skinny claimed he did.

Scale-A-Ton was still fire because Lord Infamous destroyed that album.

what was the story behind that???

skinny pimp was their best member but he got fukked over around that same time
I remember reading somewhere that Fly left either over money or something about his drug habit. I think Gangsta Blac left Prophet over the situation with Fly, they were hella tight

I'm always thought his post 2003 work hasn't been good.

I'm convinced one of the other members were writing for Paul and juice because their lyrical abilities went down the drain once hcp was done. Hell I would even argue ghost producers because their production sucks now and juice barely produces his stuff anymore, makes me think the lil pat rumors were true.

You need to listen to the 6ix Commandments mixtape Paul put out in 2013. Production on some of those tracks :ohlawd:

The beat switch at 4:25 :wow:

Really wish they never fukked over Playa Fly

Flizy would've put out nothing but classics if he stayed in Prophet

Listen, I'm not getting at you. 3-6 was my favorite group coming up and probably like you know of all the beefs, allegations, fights etc etc, and this is discussion for the sake of discussion

Now, I don't know personally; but all these allegations of Paul and Juice screwing over artists, there is no merit it to them.

Here is what I think happened.

Now, Hypnotize/ Prophet entertainment is Paul and Juice's business. Business owners are ultimately trying to make money/ get the most out of things

I think that Paul and Juice gave these artist contracts that were favorable towards them ( Paul and Juice) probably loaded them on the front end;but maybe had incentives for the artist to work hard to get money.

Being that all these dudes were wild and young, something tells me these dudes signed the contract ( with no lawyer present) took their money up front, and instead of being smart with it they did what probably any young semi rich individual did.

Unfortunately, for them they ended up looking like the monopoly man when declaring bankruptcy.

And I think the artists when they said Paul and Juice " screwed them over" were coming from a viewpoint that they thought they were " friends"

I always checked memphisrap.com back in the day and never once saw or heared of these artists taking Paul and Juice to court over said screw over

The lil Pat making the beats rumor came from T-Rock when they started having issues

The fall off I think of Paul and Juices rapping and production ( even though Paul has stepped it back up, don't know if he's producing them)
I think is due to the fact that they are just older and honestly don't give a crap now about writing " tighter rhymes"
