I Got Game
I woulda been feeling this thread in October.
But 29-5 is 29-5.
But 29-5 is 29-5.

Random Bums? Not saying that. The best player in the league, and the best 2 guard in the league, which became the best backcourt in the league? They damn sure weren't that. I didn't recall ANYONE saying in 2010 that Klay or Steph would become what they are now. You said that Steph would be better than CP3 back then and people would have laughed at you.
Jackson grew their chemistry. Taught them how to win. Taught them how to PLAY HARD and taught them how to believe in themselves, while the NBA in itself made them better players.
Kerr's not doing anything special![]()

GS had the worst bench scoring in the league last year and it was there fatal flaw @Blackthoughtsoffensively, hes doing something ALOT Better than Jackson
that much is not up for argument
thats a good point - their ball movement is substantially better this season too, there is just no denying thatGS had the worst bench scoring in the league last year and it was there fatal flaw @Blackthoughts
Mark had no clue how to adjusts lineups and constantly subbed 5 in at a time
All Kerr or anyone had to do was improve there bench scoring by getting creative with the lineups
Mark Jackson is an idiot btw
So how come Jackson couldn't get a record like this last season if he taught them all that and they learned everything from him and not from themselves?![]()
Klay was a rookie Jackson's first year and he was a total defensive liability. If that 2011 draft had a do-over Klay would go second or maybe even first. You have to give Jackson some credit for what he's become. Under D'Antoni he never would've become a defensive minded player. You could say the same thing about Jackson turning around their record. Weren't they always going to end up with a better record simply because Steph and Klay are the future? Would any coach in his place not have done just as well..
(my answer would be no but it's the same reason why Kerr deserves his props)
Every Alvin Gentry team is in the top 5 in the league offensively. The funny thing is Mike Malone got all the credit for our defense when he was here and no one is giving Alvin Gentry credit for our offense. You have to wonder why that is.offensively, hes doing something ALOT Better than Jackson
that much is not up for argument
What was wrong with Jermaine O' Neal post ups?I love how people are trying to give Mark credit, when they were a mediocre offense with him. The fool was calling for Jermain O'neal post ups.
Come on now
Klay was a rookie Jackson's first year and he was a total defensive liability. If that 2011 draft had a do-over Klay would go second or maybe even first. You have to give Jackson some credit for what he's become. Under D'Antoni he never would've become a defensive minded player.
Jackson had Mike Malone, that had the Kings playing solid defense, Boogie playing under control and the team overachieving this year.can we talk about him having two top tier assistant coaches yet? ron adams and Alvin gentry is head coaches sitting on his bench controlling both aspects of the game.
There is no reason to believe Kerr wouldn't have done as good a job in Jackson's position, just in the same way that you can wonder whether Jackson would have the same record as Kerr does now.
This would have been the season. Bogut is healthy all of a sudden. Steph playing MVP ball. Klay balling and improved his D. this would have been it.
I keep hearing about this amazing job the Kerr is doing, and I agree that he's done a superb job with the dubs. But can we stop pretending like he didn't get a continuation of Mark Jackson's work?
He groomed Draymond. Curry, and Klay and Barnes. Those 3 years under him, they built trust, chemistry, and comradery.
Doesn't mean that Kerr is doing a great job, and obviously he knows the game. But man, could we not have seen, Curry, Klay, and Draymond having career years this year? Haven't people been saying that forever? Add to Barnes balling, and Iggy and Bogut already on the Roster, wasn't this team always gonna make the jump eventually?
Everytime I see ESPN, NBA TV, or something, they always talk about the job that Kerr has done. As if he brought this team up from the very bottom. This team was always going to be a contender eventually, because it always had the pieces. They improved EVERY YEAR under Mark Jackson, while they had aroster at times. While dealing with injuries all over the place.
They went from 23 wins to 47 wins to 53 wins. In the course of his 3 years there. All the while putting together the pieces to win, and building the character, trust, and belief in teammates that you need to be a champ in the NBA.
Once again, Im not saying Kerr isn't great. But he did get to have Curry, Klay, Draymond and so on, at the peak of their prowess, shedding all their NBA "babyfat" and has them with everything they built under Jackson.
He won 21 of his first 23 games and was the first rookie coach to do that. Not a coincidence when you have all that shyt already built for you. He didnt bring this team up from the bottom. Which is how the media tries to make it seem. :blackye:
