My opinion on the job Kerr is doing is this, he was smart enough to hire arguably the best offensive coordinator in the league in Alvin Gentry. He was also smart enough to hire Ron Adams who Thibs lauds as one of the best defensive minds in the game. Mark Jackson doesn't get the credit he deserves for two reasons in my opinion, the first reason is because people never seen him with a whiteboard in his hands drawing up plays. That image to most fans goes a long way, people want to see a coach drawing up the plays and if they don't they think he's not really coaching.

The second reason is because he's Black and religious. In a world full of atheists and racists he never stood a chance at getting his proper respect in this league. People think that the team played well in spite of Jackson which is laughable, the fact of the matter is Jackson never had a healthy roster in any playoff series he's ever coached and his teams still did better than expected. We knocked off a Denver Nuggets team that only lost 3 games at home that entire season. We took the Spurs to 6 games without David Lee and with Bogut on 1 leg as well as having 4 rookies in our rotation and 2 in our starting lineup.
We took the Clippers to 7 games without a center.

I say all of that not to discredit what Kerr is doing because I think he's well prepared and is hitting the ground running but Mark Jackson changed a franchise around. He turned the Golden State Warriors into a defensive powerhouse which no one on the planet would've imagined happening 3 years ago. Imagine Derek Fisher turning around the Knicks in 3 years only to be fired and have Tim Legler take the job and get all the credit for what Fish built.

When Mark Jackson was fired he said the part that hurt the most was that after having to go through all the months and labor pains of having a baby, someone else will now get to raise it after he did all the hard work. He was right.

This would have been the season. Bogut is healthy all of a sudden. Steph playing MVP ball. Klay balling and improved his D. this would have been it.
And the bench was shytty last year. Our backup guards for most of the season are no longer in the league. Speights admits he wasn't in shape last year. If we would've had Livingston, Holiday and this Speights we would've been way better.

With all that being said, Imagine the Phoenix Suns teams of the mid 2000's with a Thibs defense.

2007 Suns Offense + 2012 Bulls defense= 2015 Golden State Warriors :banderas:

I keep hearing about this amazing job the Kerr is doing, and I agree that he's done a superb job with the dubs. But can we stop pretending like he didn't get a continuation of Mark Jackson's work? :beli:

He groomed Draymond. Curry, and Klay and Barnes. Those 3 years under him, they built trust, chemistry, and comradery.

Doesn't mean that Kerr is doing a great job, and obviously he knows the game. But man, could we not have seen, Curry, Klay, and Draymond having career years this year? Haven't people been saying that forever? Add to Barnes balling, and Iggy and Bogut already on the Roster, wasn't this team always gonna make the jump eventually?

Everytime I see ESPN, NBA TV, or something, they always talk about the job that Kerr has done. As if he brought this team up from the very bottom. This team was always going to be a contender eventually, because it always had the pieces. They improved EVERY YEAR under Mark Jackson, while they had a :scust: roster at times. While dealing with injuries all over the place.

They went from 23 wins to 47 wins to 53 wins. In the course of his 3 years there. All the while putting together the pieces to win, and building the character, trust, and belief in teammates that you need to be a champ in the NBA.

Once again, Im not saying Kerr isn't great. But he did get to have Curry, Klay, Draymond and so on, at the peak of their prowess, shedding all their NBA "babyfat" and has them with everything they built under Jackson.

He won 21 of his first 23 games and was the first rookie coach to do that. Not a coincidence when you have all that shyt already built for you. He didnt bring this team up from the bottom. Which is how the media tries to make it seem. :blackye:

TLDR: We're annoyed a cacoach is having a lot of success.

Fisher still will coach the Knicks to a title before Kerr

I rode for Mark hard when he got fired, but they're 29-5. Did you think they were going to be that at the beginning of the season? I said conf. finals or failure because I was so mad about the firing and they're in line to make to actually make the damn thing.

More importantly, do you think they could've achieved that record with Mark Jackson? Personally, I don't think so.
