TNA was amazing in the beginning, but I can't see him as GOAT heel. Good points though. Missed out on a whole bunch of TNA.

Not even SD when Heyman was running shyt?
Not religiously, caught it here & there after Rock & Hogan left and until Taker went back to being the Deadman.

Raw had all my favorite wrestlers to watch like HBK, RVD, Nash, Psycho Kane, Jericho, Christian, Austin, & Goldberg. But of course HHH & his 7 foot nose ran through them all. :snoop:

X-Pac heat isn't a real thing... if it was, everyone has X-Pac heat.. Everybody i don't like on WWE programming i wish would get the fukk off my television.

Thats not what X-Pac heat is tho... and yes, it is very very real, although there are very few examples of performers being exemplerary enough to pull it off. X-Pac was able to do it the best I have ever seen (and I got to see it in person at its height around 2000 - 2005), and I also witnessed Stone Cold and the Rock pull it off in reverse. I'll try and explain.

To try and fully define it you have to think of it like this, it occurs when the gimmick or the fan's love or hate of a character is so strong that they disregard all future gimmicks and storylines or current actions and continue to boo or cheer the wrestler based on their iconic vision of them that is burned into their memory. Not their ability, what they are seeing, or any current factor. They are simply fixated with the iconic heel or face image they have in their mind.
Even ppl like Hogan and Jim Duggan was unable to atain this. People boo'd them as a heel, cheered them as face like everyone else.

X-Pac became heel to a level in ppl's minds that later meant that despite being teamed with beloved characters and put into underdog situations (tag partners w/Kane) or loved stables (DX) being given homefield advantage (repping WWF vs WCW/ECW invasion members) or actually being able to hit high-flying spots and perform at least 10 techniques unique exclussively to himself at the time in WWE (from the Spinning heel kicks to suicide planchas, x-factor, bronco buster, diving wheel kick, etc) he would basically never be cheered and continually boo'd based on their fixated memory of him.

Rock/SCSA attained this same level of face pop, that once they were considered heel, put into heel stories, perfomed heel actions, etc... none of it mattered. The crowd loved them so much from their face runs that they cheered them through heel runs like ppl chanting Kobe at away arenas.

Sometimes ppl missaccociate smartmarks booing Cena and things of this nature as X-Pac heat but it isn't. They are booing Cena because they dislike the wrestler and do not believe him to be technically good, this is different than continuing to boo a character or cheer a character based solely on how much you loved/hated that character as a heel or face. Thats a level reseved for X-Pac and very very few others.

No, he was super over throughout his whole career. But he was over and getting boo'd. Thats the thing.
They would try and hide it or not acknowledge it.. but it was stuck in ppl's head to boo him from his heel run.

This happened to a tiny extent with Kurt Angle's theme song, when E&C added the lyrics "You SucK" to it while Angle was Heel.

But after Angle turned face ppl kept chanting "You suck" cause it was simply programed into them by then.

X-Pac got alot of shots and oppritunity, but even the run with Kane didn't go as expected.
They assumed ppl would love X-Pac soon as they stuck him with Kane and that didn't happen so they abandoned it after exhausting all options including the belts.

They wanted that 1-2-3 Kid fanfare and could never get it back. :wow:

He did create tna so I can't be too hard on him for that. A lot of great wrestling from tna over the years and incredible talent.:ehh:

I don't even hate or dislike jarrett. I just never felt he was a bonafide maineventer like he thought that he was and definitely didn't deserve as many world title reigns that he's gotten. He's an upper mid card guy at best. :yeshrug:

:mjlol: I turned away from WWE during that dreadful 03-05 period. No wrestler should ever make you want to "change the channel"
Ironically Jarrett title reigns was equivalent to HHH reign of terror. Damn near mirrored each other

I said 2000 - 2005+ in my post but I'm estimating. I know the Invasion arc is where ppl started really chronicling it.. I think in 2001 he was with Justin Credible... not sure when he went to WCW.

Maybe somebody knows why exactly or when it started, I don't. I just know that after a certain point in his career ppl was just had in their minds he was heel and wouldn't give him anything else.

But I already said he was over with Kane, just not like they wanted.
DX was super over, and with Kane he had the tag belts.

Not really Jarrett was used to set up AJ, Christian, & Sting's runs.

HHH set up Batista perfectly, but straight mowed down everyone else.

The only time people don't care for Xpac was during that wack ass Xfactor stable. He was in WCW in 96 & 97.

He was over as fukk any other time. Him being as over as he was was the spark that set Shane & HHH's heel runs ablaze

Thing is the belt always ended up back on jarrett when people were tired of him any where near the title. Only big differences were length of title reigns and amount of ppl put over

Jarrett never touched the belt again after 06. Once TNA's stars were established, he was able to step back and see that. HHH never did, he's doing it to this day.

Even during Orton's last reign HHH said "That's my belt, right now he's just holding it for me" :scust:

In the 2000's and beyond he was getting booed heavily even when they were trying to position him as a face. They actually stopped using him during the Invasion storyline because of this. Early on in the storyline he was opposite Billy Kidman. But fans were rooting for Kidman instead of X-Pac and it was throwing a wrench in the narrative so they pulled it.

But do not confuse being over with being beloved.
Ted Dibiase was over his entire career and was booed continuously. People can hate you and you can be just as over as if they love you. X-Pac was extremely successful for his weightclass in that era, but yes people booed him all the time after a certain point.
