He is wrong and you are wrong

Steph was/is the reason the Warriors are the best team.
Right. His bargain deal is the reason why the Warriors are the best team. Imo Hes the second best player in the league. Doesn't change the fact that his team is deep and loaded though. And is a 50+ team win without him. Rockets don't make the playoffs this year without Harden.

Do you not understand statistics?

He is the best player in the league and The Warriors are an average team with him off the court

OP wasn't really that off in what he said though don't get me wrong Steph Curry was the right MVP, but Harden willed his team to a lot of wins and all the way to the WCF and without an ascending Patrick Beverly to be the very solid defender he is.

:duck:

Klay as a first option.
Barnes
Draymond
Iggy
David Lee
Bogut
Livingston

Are still good for the 6 seed in the West,

And he's the second best player.

Golden State's offense falls from a 113.8 offensive rating (the best mark in the league) to 100.8 without him (the equivalent of the Denver Nuggets' 23rd-ranked figure). That's a substantial decline.

And without Harden the Rockets are a lottery team.
What are you basing this on?

Did Anthony Davis move onto another sport?

Harden is their best scorer, best passer, 2nd most total rebounds, most steals on the team, best free throw shooter, and really the only player on the team that can facilitate and create his own offense. His only weakness is turnovers and honestly that's a result of making plays because no one else really can.

If you want to play the roster game this is the Rockets sans Harden.

Patrick Beverly/Pablo Prigioni
Jason Terry
Trevor Ariza
Donatas Motiejunas/Josh Smith
Dwight Howard

vs

Shaun Livingston
Klay Thompson
Iggy
Draymond Green
Andrew Bogut

So purely speculation about something you've never seen?

Of course it's speculation

but

You know and I know Golden State has better pieces, I'm not arguing against Steph being the MVP but to make it like Harden wasn't deserving of heavy consideration is disingenuous. Without Curry Golden State is still a borderline playoff team, and honestly they could be a 7 or 8 seed. Because they have multiple creators on offense and defensively they are still an excellent team and that's without even comparing benches.

Without the Harden you have Dwight Howard and the island of lost toys.
