What NBA team did he play for? Why didn't his other teammates perform as well as he did on both sides of the court in limited minutes and with limited shots?

First of all, sarcastic YUP. :heh:

Patty Mills off the bench. Had an impact both offensively and defensively all year and especially in the finals.
Tiago Splitter was relegated to playing off the bench for most the playoffs but still was a solid backup big for Duncan and Diaw.
Both Matt Bonner and Aron Baynes contributed when they were called upon in the playoffs.

Coaching staff and teammates kept them focused and ready to contribute when called upon.

Oh, on the sarcasm (hahaha). I literally thought I may have missed something. Everything you just described is not the same thing as performing as well as Kawhi did on both sides of the court in limited minutes and with limited shots. It's not close with any of the other players?

Then you'll have no problem taking Pop's word that he doesn't even call plays for Kawhi and that everything Kawhi does is what he made up over KD's analysis, right? I mean, with this logic, Pop would surely know more than KD, right?
Pop's comments dont dispute KD's point tho.... Those two comments both can coexist. You dont have to run plays for someone for someone to benefit from a system. Pop's system relies heavily on spacing, ball movement, and pick and roll. Spacing being the biggest help for Kawhi if you ask me. Obviously dont need to be the go to gut to benefit from that. Honestly yall are looking at this all wrong:yeshrug:. Theres a huge difference between dominating and putting up numbers as a first option as compared to a fourth option where the game plan isnt geared to stop you and the the d isnt keying on you. Theres also a huge difference playing for a top 3 alltime coach compared to playing with scrub coaches. Theres also a huge difference playing with a hall of fame allstar cast, compared to playing with Roy hibbert and George Hill. At the moment PG is a better player than Kawhi. I do think Kawhi will be better one day tho cause i love his mentality and PG as been a mental midget up to this point in his career, but PG is better RIGHT NOW. And its pretty clear. If he had the luxury of being in Kawhi's shoes and playing on the Spurs he be doing even better than Kawhi:ld:. As the first option on the Pacers he put up 24-5-4 on 45% shooting while helping hold lebron to 23 points per game. If he can do that while the game plan is focused on him as the prime threat, with a scrub coach, and with (for the most part) scrub teammates, its pretty logical to believe he could do what Kawhi did in the finals:manny:. I not even trying to diminish what Kawhi did, but at the same time we got to be objective ( I know thats hard for some of you internet warriors:beli:). At the end of the day Kawhi balled out and deserves that MVP but that doesnt make him a better player than Paul George. Coli nikkas are so sensitive:snoop:. Just cause you hate KD and PG doesnt mean you dont have to think:why:

Of course they didnt perform as well as Kawhi, he was MVP...

but Pop and the staff got as much as they could have out of them. I think the performance of those players is a testament to the quality for the coach, staff and team. Hence, my original statement, I dont think Kawhi would be what he is today without Pop,the staff and his teammates.

i like both players but cornrows has a way bigger upside

PG a little more offensively polished but thats where it stops...he is a little to in love with his jumper

Cornrow the top wing defender in the league....

pissed on LeBron a good defender in his own right WITHOUT a play being called...

system isnt helping Kawhi if doesnt get any plays called for him

This is the last time I’m gonna talk about this. I did not hate on Kawhi Leonard, quite honestly if you knew me or been around me, you would see how excited I was for such a young humble guy. But this world loves conflict I see. I really gave major props to coach pop and the whole staff for putting those guys in great positions to be successful. I realized you can’t say anything about a champion so if I hurt anybody’s feelings I apologize (I really don’t) but you get my drift.

cornrows can't even dribble the ball or create for himself. I don't see how he has a huge upset.

I'll say this again...

Kawhi was tasked to guard Lebron James or Dwayne Wade 90% of the series....

And Kawhi put up MVP numbers in points, fg%, rebounds, and steals without being the focal point of the offense and guarding the best players on defense

Is he better than PG... I dont know. But it wasn't pops system that got him putback dunks, contested shots/3's or sent to the rim.

You're right, it was atrocious effort on the glass by Miami, constant moving off the ball and just making tough shots. He shot the ball extremely well for a couple games and over night he's suddenly transformed into a superstar apparently. :skip:

He shot the ball well because he was aggressive. Whenever the ball touched his hand on the second go around he usually drove or shot it if he had space. Before he would be trying to pass it to Parker, Duncan, or Ginobli.

Pop said he had to BEG Kawhi to be aggressive, and all of them told him that they wouldn't win the series if he wasn't aggressive on the offensive end. They all had faith in him, Pop calls him the future of the franchise even before this series. Dude didn't have faith in himself, which is why he told Pop "Thank you for pushing me" when he won MVP and they won the 'chip.

And not only did he "shoot the ball well", he rebounded well, stole well, blocked shots well, and put pressure on the defense well. He was aggressive in every way possible except in assists... For 3 games straight while in the finals

And to wrap it all up on Father's Day, poetic justice.
