Paul George had his chance to play like Kawhi did against the Heat and I didn't see it
So George had a chance to sit back and watch 3s be drained by his teammates while playing the role player option ? That's interesting I could remember him having to go nuts in the 4th just to beat the heat at home.

Let's be honest here, if you swap out hibbert with duncan, hill with parker and lance with manu and vogel for pop indiana would've swept miami. Leonard is a good player, but PG to me has a higher ceiling and he doesn't have what Leonard has around him talent wise or coaching wise. I don't think Leonard would've carried the pacers like PG did earlier in the season and to the conference finals.

I'm an OKC fan but Durant has lost some of my respect. This is b***hmade. He should have kept his mouth closed.

Kawhi neutralized Lebron's numbers. That would be a more accurate description. Yeah, LeBron got his 30 but the Heat need that top 5 player of all time performance(40-50+ games)from LeBron which was never going to happen against Leonard. If LeBron would have went off, he would have been praised to the highest of heavens(rightfully so). LeBron had a very quiet series.

Other than that I agree with the points already stated in this thread. Athleticism and skill means nothing when you don't have the IQ to apply it properly in the right situation. KD needs to be mad at himself, Westbrook partially and S**tty Brooks for their playoff struggles. Paul George needs to GROW UP.

kd salty as fukk that kawhi locked him up and went on to win the championship and the finals mvp. like the OP said, the spurs run 0 plays for kawhi. so the system has nothing to do with it.

yes lebron averaged 28 but what did he average with kawhi as the primary defender? lebron scored at will when he was iso'd on diaw and had a mismatch.

what? Heat would have lost if lebron dropped 50 points last night. it doesn't matter what lebron did offensively they couldn't defend the spurs.

Kevin Durant is right. If you would take Kawahi Leonard over PG, then you're a fukking retard. :yeshrug:

I'll take a guy who guarded LeBron and contained him, and did whatever he wanted on the offensive side, over a dude who doesnt even wanna beat LeBron but be his friend :camby:

1 MVP Ring >>> PG...

Guess I'm retarded.

PG don't got no heart. Def not like Kawhi. Kawhi passes the eye test.

Lol Kawhi Leonard basically even said post game that LeBron did whatever and did good on him

The biggest thing with LeBron was the turnovers
A LOT of Lebron's points were scored on other players or when switches occurred. I wish I had the numbers but it seemed for large stretches of the game Lebron would flat out refuse to shoot with Kawhi on him or would just force up a three pointer. He wanted nothing to do with that matchup as Kawhi was quick enough to keep him out the paint, strong enough to fight him on the block, and aggressive enough to strip or block his shot. The main times Lebron was able to go off on him was through shooting contested jumpers which we know Lebron is streaky at.

:what: But Lebron has gone harder at Kiwi than he does at George. Lebron went 31 ppg 10 reb 5 ast, 60% FG and 50% 3pt. Stop acting like Kiwi was out there destroying Bron. That Spurs bench should have gotten the MVP.

What does that even mean, my nikka? Spurs won. Kawhi is Finals MVP. Heat didn't. LeBron is not. Deal with it.

ain't no fukkin hatin...he played good. Kawhi Leonard wouldn't touch a finals if he had to be a true number 1 option on his team though

Oh word? You say that because? I almost forgot that basketball is an individual sport. Thanks for the reminder.

Paul George never played Lebron as well Kawhi, nor was he athletic enough to make all the rebounds and drives Kawhi did either. And if he is athletically able to do those things, then he chooses not too, which is much worse. Like Pop said, he never called a play for Kawhi. It was just the first time he decided to be more aggressive in the offense. This is the 2nd Finals Kawhi beasted in. It's not a fluke.

George's offensive game is terrible. He just takes bad jumpers all game long. People act like anyone can play in a system. IQ is a skill too.

George from November-December is a much better player than Kawhi. The George after that was not. And Kawhi's numbers would be higher if Pop would play him more. He didn't even average 30 minutes
