It's a good example of how themes appeal to people more than strict identity. Scarface is an underdog who emerges from a terrible life situation to reach the top of the world. Makes sense why a certain segment/demo of black people find meaning in that. Another example would be Gladiator: a self made man has everything taken from him and must reclaim what is his while attaining immortality in the arena.
