You could go for subtlety. That's always an option. Or just let Cena be Cena and have Bryan play off of him by being Bryan. Play off of his history and rise through the circuit and around the world. There are many other ways besides just doing a simplistic face/heel dynamic using the McMahons.

I think you're overanalyzing here just because you dont personally like McMahon, and you dont appreciate his involvement. The template that McMahon is updating, greatly helped turn Austin into one of the biggest stars of all time. Again, the target audience of the WWE wasnt even alive, or were extremely young, when the original played out.

The young audience of WWE is necessarily going to respond to subtlety. Why do that, when going overt has a better chance of clearly defining the story they are trying to tell? Once again, Cena is sensitive to maintaing his babyface character, so him going heel doesnt seem to be an option.

I just ain't impressed with him. I see him as a Santino type of heel, just a comedy Genius gimmick. Plus in the ring he is change the channel status to me. And it was early for Sandow to get the briefcase when he hasn't accomplished or did anything of significance leading up to the MITB match. But, I guess we gotta wait and see how the E books him, I just can't take him seriously. It reminds me when the E put the briefcase on Miz and he got exposed for not being ready and not being a main event talent.

It's obvious that he won't stay like that for long.

He'll become like another HHH and become a cerebral assassin. You'll see!!
