I don't think it's just the labels

They fantasize and fangirl over him their whole lives and when they get on the first person to come to mind as someone to collab with is him. Then they actually meet him, realize what we've all known about him and diss him later

Maybe not but as a function to gain a bigger audience it doesn't work. That's usually one of the reasons ppl collab, not just for artistic merit and chemistry but for cross branding purposes.

And honestly Tinashe is the only one to come out and be honest about being forced, the rest of the girls love him as you said. Chris been had an issue with Tinashe though so of course he went off.

She should be embarrassed, particularly about that R. Kelly shyt. And now that I think about it, labels need to stop trying pair every black r&b girl with Chris. It doesn't help them at all and it hasn't in almost a decade.
Why yo ass have all that smoke for r Kelly but. Not Chris brown?

Sidebar, this just shows how influential Aaliyah/Timbaland and Janet Jackson/Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were. Those artists and producers made music that appealed to men and women.

No man would be embarrassed bumping Aaliyah or Janet because their music was not only of the highest quality, their music had substance. Even if they were singing about heart break or men doing them wrong, their music never felt gender specific, even their women empowerment songs wasn’t on the nose.

Now these women lean so heavily into being sexual, you forget they even make music and it becomes an afterthought. I feel bad for Tinashe because damn she’s trying, but there are 100s of pretty singers that just don’t have the X-Factor like the aforementioned.

Mya’s career didn’t go nowhere. Nivea’s career didn’t go no where. Christina Milian’s career didn’t go nowhere. It’s a ruthless industry. Just being pretty, dancing and being able to sing isn’t enough. shyt, Ciara had her moment in the sun but she’s been washed up since the 2010s.

Beyoncé and Rihanna are extremely rare. To still be relevant as a black female artist after decades is unicorn like. And the latter was smart enough to diversify even though she can come back to music anytime and still sell out.
