If Im arguing with someone, you cant blame anyone but myself unfortunately. Thats a choice Im making. We cant complain about the nature of things we voluntarily and intentionally place ourselves in. The easy way to not have this experience is to not use social media. The only thing more annoying than social media, are people who live on social media and complain about it. I dont use Twitter, IG, FB, none of it. Cause I know better. Its annoying. Not going to annoy myself.

Yep, and mods also need to start banning people for misleading thread titles
There's currently a 9 page thread full of people debating a fake quote from a video they didn't bother to watch. A big reason why fake news and misinformation continues to be a problem is because people don't bother to check on what they're commenting on. They see a Click baiting headline and then they go off. It's not just the coli, it's social media in general. Smart people, dumb people, everyone is guilty of it. If you're gonna comment on something, just put in a little bit of time and effort to make sure it was actually written or said.
And don't make the excuse that you don't have time to watch the video or read the article that you're commenting on. If you have time to write an essay, you have time to watch and read.
It's not about proving a point, it's about stirring up controversy. If you have to do all that to prove a point then is the point actually worth proving?
Yeah I was thinking about making a topic about how average everyday people are purposely putting out fake info like celebrities and politicians to push some type of agenda. It's not just rich White people you gotta vet.
On this website alone. It's become way too coming over the years for people to post clips or social media posts with little to no context and an editorialized title to try to influence people to think a certain way.
