personally believe are talented, but for whatever reason you just don't "click" wit h their music...

I will have to go with Wale, because somebody posted "The Gifted" and I heard the single...

I can honestly say Wale is talented, and even say he makes good in music, in the sense that, I understand why other people may enjoy it...

But at the same time, on any given day, I would rather listen to Ballout (GBE) than Wale...

I have been thinking about this lately...Why don't I enjoy J Cole, Kanye West, Wale, Kendrick Lamar, Drake and other rappers that I know for sure are talented...?

Instead I listen to Chief Keef and Waka Flocka, who I believe are very talented in their own right, but not stupid in enough to think that they are on the same level as rappers like Kanye, Wale, J Cole, Drake and such...

And I am a highly educated individual...It's like I am stuck in the twilight zone...

Nah, its just hype music like Waka and GBE is easier to listen to, imo.

I love lyrical hip hop.. but i can't listen to most of it on repeat or play it constantly.. its not something I want to listen to on repeat, either. I listen to it on "special" days, days when I feel like its fitting my mood and I need to hear some real lyrical shyt.

It's like christmas to me, ya know? if christmas was every other week it would loose it appeal lol

that was a terrible comparison but im sure you know what i mean lol

This is definitely how I am in regards to Drake. Dude is talented I even think he's a top tier rapper (as far as the new wave of rappers 2007- present) but I just havent really clicked with him aside from that first mixtape he dropped which is a personal classic.

J-Cole would fit this as well for me. I actually liked FNL but it's something about his music I cant vibe with but I've finally decided to give Born Sinner a listen today after all of the rave reviews it's been receiving.

I'm kinda the same as you, less patience for wordy rappers these days. I personally don't need my education from a rapper, so maybe I'm just trying to keep it divided.

i feel the same about Wale. i know he can spit but it's just something about him that personally irks me. it's like you can hear it in his flow all the time that he's got something to prove...the nikka is never relaxed...it seems like he's always spazzin'

I admit he's very good but Ive only liked songs here and there.

Fell asleep listening to section.80 and just wasnt feeling GKMC.

Its funny though cause I hear the same tired ass excuse to people I know only listen to him cause its the cool thing to do right now, "He's different... He talks about real stuff... He makes music that makes you think..." Ive heard it all and Im just like :stopitslime:

I used to be this way wioth Fabolous and Lloyd Banks.. I know they both have skills and are better than alot of other rappers.

But for some reason I just never gave a shyt about what they have to say.

I'm kinda of the same way with Drake, I recongize he has talent, can spit and make dope hooks but to me his music never sticks with me and it doesn't really feel like he is rapper about anything worthwhile or important....
