J. Cole, Joe Budden, Drake, Eminem, A$AP Rocky, Wale...

I will never say any of them are wack but most times I feel nothing when listening to their music. Maybe it's the voice or the flow, or the beat selection but I can't listen to a full album from any of these guys and never have been able to do so. All are very talented MC's and some of the best in the game. I respect their skill but don't like their music much.

Wale - I've listened to most his mixtapes and albums, yet nothing abt him gets repeat rotation from me

Lupe - I remember I liked the cool and fl (fl2 sucked IMO) and he spits some real shyt, but I just haven't connected to him as a artist

The roots - I'm a fan of some of their sound, but never fully could get into them

This is a great thread shouts to the OP. I can't get into Kendrick Lamar or jcole. I kno j cole. And schoolboy q I tried to like his music he's just trash no disrespect to the west coast. I jus can't. I'm late on Kendrick but his shyt is dope. Oh yea and the gunplay hype here is suspect. And I can't do any of joe buddens music either lol

i'm shocked no one has said Eminem since you guys love to talk about how most of yall can't relate to him :deadhorse:

but me personally it has to be Immortal Technique for the simple fact that dude's music just doesn't appeal to me but i know hes talented as f*ck and Rass Kass just cuz his flow doesn't really zone me in to him.

Drake, very talented, but gay and corny as hell. Not to mention phony.

Lupe like a couple posters mentioned earlier. Talented, conscious, has integrity, but his music is like listening to paint dry.

Eminem is a lyricists' rapper...

You'd be surprised at the amount of lyrical hood nikkaz who listen to eminem to check for new flows, rhyme schemes n shyt like that...

Like breh above me said... The older n more educated I get; the more ignant music I like...

Im from NY n Im 25 years old... So I grew up listenin' to the technical punchline rappers from the east coast durin' my teens; lloyd banks, dipset, D-block, grafh, A-team, etc...

Nowadays I dont feel those rappers like I used to... Today I bump Chief Keef, Gucci Mane, a lotta southern cats n go back to listen to a lot of older southern music I didnt listen to at the time...

wow, that's very interesting... :ohhh:

could it be because you see them just having fun with hip hop and not taking themselves serious like most NY rappers do??

I guess Im startin' to appreciate other aspects of the game... :obama:

Take Gucci n Project Pat as examples... A lotta upnorth nikkaz be shyttin' on them sayin shyt like they retarded bamas n they lyrics is nursery rhymes...

But none of them could ride a beat like Gucci or Proyect Pat... N that shyt takes either some serious skill or just natural talent...

When I used to write I could literally rhyme entire bars syllable by syllable, but I never developed a unique flow like Gucci or Pat or could I never ride a beat like Drake... I guess thats why I stopped tryin'...

I also think the south has stepped their game up a lot... Southern nikkaz sayin' NY rappers tryina steal their style, when in reality they've come a long way thanks to their biggiest artists takin' a lot from NYs pen game...

Lil' wayne, T.I. without the accent, Rick Ross, 2chainz... These guys write n sound nothin' like southern rappers from the past..

Guess we all feed off each other...

Tech N9ne (first album I ever copped from him was Anghellic and I know most call it a classic, I still have yet to listen to it all the way through in one sitting)

Big Krit (never saw what the big deal was)

Wale (great singles but I just never have him a fair listen outside of that)

Redman (I listen to method Man and fukk with their joint albums but I lose interest otherwise)

Royce, Joe budden, I used to fvck with Eminem but after I graduated elementary realized how corny his music was. I can't put on a Meek Mill song unless I'm at a party or in a car :laff:

Mob deep even though they used to make good music and I know they skilled and talented I was never a fan :manny:
