Only the OG fat consoles were backwards compatible. That feature got taken out of all the new ps3s.

Could always check their online catalog if you get a non backwards compatible

I still got a bricked OG PS3 in my basement. had it fixed once, and it worked for like 2 more months. fixed it myself and it only worked for like 15 minutes. charge it to the game. plus it's not like I'm trying to play PS2 or PS1 games anyways these days. hell, I dont even play PS3 games anymore on my slim.
