Nope. I'm from Chicago so it's the shallow end of the pool and lake. I'd never fukk around in the ocean, if we were meant to be in the water we'd have gills. I'll leave it to white folks to get attacked by sharks.

Yea I can swim. Almost drowned once in my neighbor's pool in my early years.

not only is swimming just a useful skill but i once went scuba diving and that shyt blew my mind

it wasn't even the beauty or the peace, although that was incredible. it was the breathing underwater. i felt invincible

Everybody should learn how to be a competent swimmer. We need more programs encouraging black folk to get swimming lessons, making it more accessible.
Every year black kids die in pools, our rates are some of the worst.

I started lessons at 18 months and I'm so grateful my parents did that. I've been pulled under when other people panic, momentarily stuck under a raft, gotten cramps when too far from the shore and those years of training kept me from panicking and flailing. Being comfortable enough in the water to slow down and make logical decisions is everything.

. Swam in great white territory once without realizing it. My uncle told me it's one of the world's most dangerous places for shark attacks . I'm never swimming there again but i still swim about 1000 ft away from it

Swam a mile at the gym Friday afternoon. I am running today but I will be back in the pool tomorrow.

Nothings worse than when youre in the pool with a chick, trying to dunk her and play tag with her n look cool, but, the whole time youre out there youre having to wade slowly and clumsily through chest high water, while she gracefully swims laps around you, laughing.

My mom taught me how to swim when I was 7 or 8, but I haven't swam in 15 years...I can't even float now.
