You can tell the difference but it is hard to say why and whether you could tell by just looking at pictures.

The way people walk, talk and dress are also indicators.

The ones who are born here don’t walk or dress any different but talk yes.


AAs have a slight different accent than Caribbean and Africans. There is no twang in an the speech of these people.

For sure. ADOS has a different swagger about us. Our Caribbean brothers and sisters are harder to distinguish sometimes like the Jamaicans especially if they grew up in Western culture.

Even West Indians that grew up around ADOS carry themselves different. I have several West Indian associates, I mainly end up dating West Indian women, and the differences are pronounced.

Unless they have features that give them up I honestly can't tell until I interact with them.

Carribeans, Congolese, liberians and some Nigerians are even harder to tell esp if they were born here. I can spot a Ghanaian from a mile away though lol.

With the Africans/Caribbeans I've known and kicked it with, this is true. But, is this the case for New York? I thought because of Hip-Hop y'all would all sound the same.
