kid smarter than you low key

not wasting his time learning how to read a clock because he isn't gonna be foolish enough not to have his phone on him once he gets one

Young people in general do not know what the face of a clock is supposed to mean.

Found this out at work with a bunch of 20 somethings

A while back I was at some party and I asked a kid what time it was.

I didn't have my phone and wasn't wearing a watch, but there was a clock on the wall of the dining room.

He didn't know how to read it. Now I'm not here to bash an 8 year old kid. If he wasn't taught, that's not on him.

But given that handwriting in cursive doesn't seem to be taught these days, it made me wonder. Do kids even learn how to tell time off a clock? Or is this out of style now because numbers are displayed digitally on phones and tablets?

I know of a number of schools that are reintroducing handwriting. Certain skills can should never be lost. That's like kids not knowing how to ride bikes or change a tire.

As a kid, i couldn't get a calculator watch unless i knew analog time first.

That & multiplication tables (cold shiver thinking about flash cards 😓) can/should be learned at home

This question is outrageous

:russ:
I mean it’s straight wild this is the case. But it’s such a digital age where nobody even looking at clocks. Everybody got a phone and about all devices can tell you the time. People walking around with watches and never set that bytch to the correct time. these schools are trash. Plus I doubt they telling kids half the basic shyt we learned. They not even teaching cursive no more hardly..:flabbynsick:Really a shame, but great question given the times

Between this and kids who can't read/write cursive these are definitely different times.

:snoop: there are so many people that don’t sign their name in cursive. I don’t know why but it bothers me. At least learn how to sign your name even if it’s mostly scribbles
