For recommended, they say "eight core" but that must be for AMD because for intel they give a 4 core as an example. Even in the "Ultra", it's a 6 core CPU.

those i7's have hyperthreading, so they can run two threads on one core. basically simulating twice as many cores. I keep it off, because few games currently take advantage of that many cores. that will probably change now that the consoles both have 8 core cpu's
