Canada has the 3rd largest proven oil reserves in the world but they've suffered economically because their oil comes out at a very high cost. Thus you notice whenever the price of oil is high they do well economically and whenever it is low they suffer. Although these pipelines will help them now - in the long run as the world moves onto renewable and nuclear it doesn't help them. Canada needs to diversify their economy.
