This is a qualifying tournament. Not an Americas zone qualifier. That happened last summer.

You cant be losing to teams like Venezuela and expect to qualify. But it's a neverending loop of excuses for the men's side. When they lost last summer, the media narrative was " well there is still the qualifying tourney that we paid to get into". Now that reverts back to "should have done better at the Americas".
