Was this some type of recall? I don't really understand Canadian politics, a lot different from American politics.

Explain to me like I'm stupid. I know Trudeau had just been reelected in 2019. So what was this election?

And explain the parties to me too, why they're saying he won but he didn't win.
Basically unlike the US, Canada allows the leader to call an election ahead of the election date.

Our next date is 2025, but the Bozo can call an earlier date if he wants.

Nope and they never will. Its like the Green Party in America winning.

We call them Prime Minister here.
Good information, much appreciated.

So it's only marginally better than the American 2 Party systemdue to the 3rd Parties actually having a say in government, even if it is minimal at best.

Correct. That 3rd party (NDP) held the Liberals to task these past few years getting them focused on climate change and some other policies. So a 3rd party program can be integrated into the winning side.

I think in countries with parliaments they can call for an election early rather than wait til a set date, I think it's usually done by the ruling party and generally done early when either there is no confidence from the party in the current leader anymore or at times when they think it will be favorable to hold the election early because they think they're going to gain more seats.

something like that, it has been a while since I took the class on electoral systems lol.

You need the Governor general to give consent to dissolve parliament
