Makes their products cheaper to buy, ours more expensive for them to purchase. They probably won't come here as much to spend money.

Random thought, Republicans in my estimation started to get really dumb in the 90s

It took a while like a cancer to spread, we put it into remission once but the scale of this retarded cancer that is maga is breathtaking now.
Exactly this is economics 101, and it's a way for Canada and Mexico to combat tariffs. For example as a US company doing business with Canadian companies you can say to yourself yes I'm paying 25% tarrifs but it's offset by the Canadian dollar going down 25 percent from a few years ago. So it's a wash.

However, as a US company if selling your goods to Canada was a major market of yours you just got screwed royally and might as well declare bankruptcy or move your manufacturing to Mexico or somewhere else because Canadians won't be buying from you with their weak dollar and a tariff on top of it. There's also many Canadians who own real estate, and vacation during their winters in the states. Those folks are heading to the Caribbean or Europe now cause it'll be cheaper than bum ass Florida.

Honestly it will probably be cheaper for American companies to still manufacturing in Canada then the US since the dollar is low.

+ Them. Taxes
What has that got to do with anything.

Canadians get paid in CAD and have expenses in CAD, USDCAD is pointless as regards personal income taxes, it only affects people that are planning to travel to the US.

And unless an American plans to travel to Canada and consume it doesn't matter either.

What does matter however is that the Federal Reserve will be less likely to decrease interest rates, which means that people with mortgages and other loans will have to pay more. Which means that Americans with loans, consuming in the US and not Canada, will have less money regardless of taxes.

Neg, this is a lie. USD/CAD is 1.466 right now. Not even touching November 2024 lows
