why he gotta use this gruff robot monotone all the time.. still can't understand how he lost his 98 flow. aging doesn't explain it.
to be fair for RTJ, he had to do it that way, since he was in the army.

He still got lyrics but these slow tempo beats not complementing him. His voice sounds like he recording directly in front of the mic with no pop filter and getting the proximity effect where it's making his voice too deep.
He sounds better over boom bap beats that are faster. These is just 4 bars loops that sound redundant.
I always wondered what his career would have been if he released 2000 BC first instead of can-i-bus. I liked the first album but people wanted an album like 2000 BC initially. The first album turned a lot of people off where they didn't check the 2nd one which was more of what people wanted.
