They fell off big time. How’d they go from the 90’s Q45 and the original G35/FX35 to what they have now?

the Q50 is half decent, but that’s about it.

Lexus>Infiniti

honestly what is luxury anymore? Lexus ain't got a luxurious feel for most of their models now. These companies all watered down their product to sell entry level vehicles to people who want to ride luxury but can't.

So now there's all this back and forth about what brands are what when the reality is only their higher end models have the feel ...

don't buy a nissan, and i'm saying this as someone who owns two including a gt-r. they're a shrinking/failing company, their main business is subprime lending while disproportionately targeting minorities and the poor. selling cars to fleet companies is their side biz, and selling cars to consumers is an afterthought. the only thing i think they have going in their favor is that they intro'd a lot of new models in the past couple years after getting rid of their old ceo, which is a saga by itself lol. Nissan/Infiniti fell off. It used to be nice, reliable and cutting-edge but now it's garbage imo.

The all new 400z is their last hope or they'll be mistubishi status.

The parent company that owns Nissan purchased a stake in Mitsubishi.

Man they had significant transmission issues...if you made it to 100k in one of their CVTs you were in luck. I dumped my 2013 Nissan Altima at about 99k miles...I didn't want that life. I knew they were in trouble when they redesigned the Altima and made it look like a freaking Sentra...it was so ugly and cheap looking. They need a lot of work...

...and that rubber banding in "SPORT" mode. :patrice:

As an Infiniti driver of almost 25 years, it's not the car it was 10 years ago. They dropped the Q70 which I have been driving since the it was the M45 then M56 series. I would lease it it though because the leases are relatively cheap but as an automaker in general Nissan has slid backwards outside a few models imo. My next vehicle will probably be an Audi.
