I wanna hear some stories about positive and negative experinceswith car buying and what to look out for. I always forget these dealers are wolves. Thank God i have good credit
I cant understand how some people finance cars and never pay them off. Like the whole concept of always having a car payment is weird to me.
I'm in the process of shopping for another car (time to retire the VW
) and been looking at cars. My boy and I are both shopping and he was like:
I've had 6 cars. 1st car was a gift. 2nd car was a gift. 3rd car paid for cash. 4th car was first brand new car and paid it off in less than 4 years. 5th car got totalled and i paid it off. Current car been paid off for years now. I know this dude who is a finance manager for a dealership and he tells me a lot if not most people that finance cars rarely actually pay off a car.
That concept of always owing kinda bothers me.

- Me - What?
- Him - You're gonna trade in the VW, right? How much do you owe on it?
- Me - Nah, I paid it off at least 3 ..almost 4 years ago. You really think i'd be making payments on a 9 y/o car?
- Him - wow. You know what.. Ive never paid a car off in my life. Ever. I always trade it in and get a newer one. Under water or not.
