Would you be willing to risk doing it yourself? Might not be a huge hassle and the part is probably like 30-70 dollars. It's the trumped up labor that always makes these jobs so expensive when you take it somewhere.
Open the engine compartment fuse box and check all of the large fuses which are called fusible links If you're lucky the one that is supposed to protect the electrical system from idiots is blown. If the key was turned on when the cables were hooked up wrong you may have fried all the modules and the PCM and will be looking at a good $2,000 worth of electrical equipment!
