For a used IS or really any toyota/honda how many miles is "too many" when the car is like 10 yrs old?
Used Lexus IS for Sale in Riverview, FL - CarGurus

On average estimate 15k miles per year as the standard. Lexus has a superior service record and dealership experience.

So no worries there.

The maintenance history is more important than miles. So check there first.

As a defecto rule... you want to stay under 10 years old and 85K for most used cars.

Things naturally wear all the way out by 20 years.

I would either go American SUV or Japanese car.

Depends on how well it was maintained -- understand this though, if it's an IS F-Sport (NOT an IS-F), if it has staggered tires, you'll be lucky to get 20-25k out of a set of rear tires. Front brakes are beefy - expect to go thru approximately 1-2 sets of rear brakes before the front. Other than that, just be sure it has a solid maintenance history.
