I think Meg gonna give Cardi a run for her money, we’ll see how this goes. Dreezy should be in the discussion as well cause she’s also talented and probably writes her stuff too.

There are some serious female MC's. Cardi B should just stay out that lane. Keep making her singles. These chicks ain't like Nicki Minaj they won't stoop down to your level they will bar you down.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Ain't Meg and Cardi on the same label?

I said it a few months ago on twitter, but these Cardi fans are gonna turn against her for Meg.

I don't listen to any of them really but Meg writes her own shyt and the label can put her product out cheaper than Cardi since they don't have to pay everyone plus Cardi to make her album.

Plus Meg has the better body and it's real :shaq:

Nah!

Nobody cares except rap nerds who don't even buy rap albums. Rap is pop now. Not surprising pop fans, who have had zero issue with artists not writing their own music - from Michael Jackson to Miley Cyrus - have no issue with rappers not writing their own lyrics.

I don't respect any rapper who doesn't write, and it's clear most of these stripper rappers are not writing shyt. It's a hustle, like everything they do. Not judging them - it was a hustle for a lot of rappers we respect as well. To quote one of our favorites... "fukk rap, I'm trying to make cream and that's that."

Where's the discrepancy. It's a lazy hustle to them. I'm not hating, I just don't respect or view them as rappers.

Saying you don't respect them IS judging. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with the point you are trying to make (in fact I agree with it), just the way you phrased your post is contradictory.

ghost writing isn't new...a lot of artist do it to branch out and change their flow/song vibe. If you have the same flow every song people will grow tired regardless of how good you are. I personally love J. Cole...and could listen to his songs non-stop....on repeat. But you can see how casual fans react to years of it.

The problem is when an artist is incapable of writing they're own music.

I think it is more of categorization

No one is listening to music cause the artist wrote it. That’s the silliest, fake deep shyt ever
A big part of appreciating rapping as an art form is being able to marvel at the skill of the rapper who (supposedly) penned their lyrics. Yes, you can still enjoy a rap song knowing that it's been ghostwritten. But how the hell do you take a rapper seriously who doesn't write their own shyt? At some point, the craft still has to matter.
