I was thinking about her rollout - not just to the album but before that. She was THE chick. Everyone was retweeting her videos, watching her shyt, mimicking her twerking tutorials and just adopting her shyt. You could argue she didn't blow into the mainstream because she didn't have a Bodak Yellow, and that's certainly true. But I really think that her being black has an impact. The market is dominated by these white and Hispanic girls who basically just regurgitate phrases and mannerisms created by black women (and gay black men, and black trans women - let's be real, give them the credit they deserve). I feel like Megan is gonna spend awhile just providing content for Cardi and other chicks to steal and run with.

I'd bet all my rep that Cardi's album is gonna have a lot of City Girls inspired shyt - the Memphis style production, flows, etc.

Doja Cat is the most talented in terms of being a pure artist than all of them.

She makes plenty of beats during her streams, live. Girl used to be apart of a breakdancing crew and she just performed with Hiero, Souls of Mischief and Del (artists she admits to listening to). She got both bars, melodies and rhythms for days. She can do full on hip-hop, full on R&B and full on pop.

Even that “Mooo!” video was completely made by her. She even got blackballed because she chose to speak her mind than pander.

I gotta refine this statement a little.

Out with some friends right now and one of my homegirls got a playlist with some of Megan’s songs on. Everybody definitely into her. Megan and her music just has that “it” factor. It’s that golden attribute that really outshines all the other traits.

Megan definitely the star out of this group, not taking anything away from Doja Cat though.
