This shyt isn’t even sexy. It’s filthy and it’s being peddled to young impressionable girls dealing with teenage insecurities.

Can you imagine riding in a car with your daughter and Wet Ass p*ssy comes on the radio?

:picard:
They’ve already been listening to nikkas rap about shooting each other and selling drugs, at this point they’ll be fine. :yeshrug:

I don't like hyper sexualized content from men either, but yeah, I don't have an issue with this, nor will I listen to it. I do think there are valid concerns where little children, especially younger marginalized black children, and the role that this type of music plays in grooming young teenagers as victims of pimps/human traffickers. I would like the music to embrace sexual empowerment without embracing transactional culture of sex for money/material things. Calling oneself a whore, without any discernment works when you are Meg and Cardi who live in the Hills, or whatever, it doesn't work for poor marginalized women. They need to offer more clarity about what they are advocating, but i guess cardi is a former dancer so there it is.

Like why not talk about consent and autonomy for women? Instead of "hitting the back of my throat"? I don't agree that the music isn't "feminist", but what it isn't is intelligent or considerate of it's audience, and traffics in the same ugliness of the worst of male sexualized rap

That's always been the moral disparity in the music, the two girls who were playing this yesterday are professional women with careers and standing, they are playing "whore" for the fun, it's just a sexy song to them, and they can talk about empowerment and sexual norms, and that's fine, I agree with it all. I'm here for that.

but, there is a 12 year old girl in SE San Diego right now who is going to be turned out, who is following the lyrics literally, because she lacks the privilege and the standing to take it as a joke. obviously, just because someone is poor and lower class doesn't mean they are without any sense, but sex work will be seen as legit choice. but it's not the empowered kind of sexual savage Cardi and Meg push, it's a minor who is turned out in a grimy hotel room. It's real life. Women can be as sexual as they desire, I don't care about "traditional women", I don't care who slept with how many, I date all kinds, I like all kinds. I do care about the kids who end up victimized with this as guiding tool, and a sountrack.

Exactly. Normalization of strip club culture and whoring is going to hurt girls who are already on the margins because they have terrible like parents.

I’m not even saying they can’t make songs like this, just don’t release them as singles with glossy ass videos. Some songs need to stay album cuts. The raunchiest rapper of all time knew not to release Freaky Tales and Blow Job Betty as singles. Instead he dropped shyt like “The Ghetto”.

Didn't listen or watch.

Just another example of why the black community is so fukked up. Celebrate hyper-sexualization and whoredom and violence against your own.

What other community does that? And are they successful.

These white Jewish Executives who run the music industry are playing 4-D chess out here.

:coffee:

nikka, the bolded is literally shyt that white people taught the whole world to do.

We gonna act like white folks ain't been marketing "hypersexualization and whoredom" waaaaay longer than we even been allowed to?

Are they successful? I got Madonna on the line now, I'm waiting for her to give me the answer.

But yeah, this is why "the black community" is so fukked up, cause it's just us doin' it, right?

Y'all are hilarious for actin' like sellin' sex is some new age shyt that only we are doin'... come on, y'all know better than that.

:ehh: Much better song that I actually expected.

Would I take time out of my day to listen to this again? No but it doesn’t mean that’s what people don’t want to hear. It’s their choice.

:ehh: Even the video and choreography for this helps push the single.

You really want to use Too Short breh, and then name Freaky Tales - which absolutely was a single before The Ghetto was :russ:

He even released MORE FREAKY TALES as a single :russ:

(Perhaps you meant video...in which case we can start a whole other game on Short).

You absolutely 100% cannot get around the fact that if you object to this single on a moral/ethical ground you will have to object to a whole countless bunch of other shyt from Short to Nas to Hov etc.
