I'm on a Fusion Latin Trap Wave right now....already know this means a new rabbit hole has just been dug for half the weekend :mjcry:.

Nearly 100 million views in 15 days. :damn:

So I was listening to Cargo B's "I Like It" track and was just really feeling that old Latin tune mixed with the Trap beat.

Let me specify what I mean by "Latin Trap".

Not looking for reggaeton which can be :huhldup:the way they recycle the same production.

Not talking talking trap beats with Spanish rappers.

  1. I'm talking identifiable traditional Latin music (bachata, salsa, merengue, etc) mixed with Trap beats layered over it. If a Latin rapper is rapping, cool, but the criteria is identifiable traditional Latin music.

I'll admit there are some duds in the mix, but also it's hard to find what I'm seeking because "Latin Trap" in search bar may typically only bring up Latin rappers over regular trap beats.....not my goal.....but I've found a few that meet the criteria. Trying to find some "Fusion Brazilian Trap" next, because again the search may not include traditional Brazilian music.

This shiit so fresh

So after 2 hours of searching, I have to report there is not enough material to support my criteria.

It's just like I said traditional trap beats, or it goes into Dub-step, or Techno, or Funk...:snoop:.

Lol goofy, mestizos can't create. They just combine and sprinkle that wack spice on already flavorful material.

doers this classify as cultural appropriation?
Yes.
People will argue latinos were "there from the beginning" (not entirely true) just like "a jamaican invented hip hop" (FALSE).
If a regular English speaking black man was doing reggaeton, they'd bytch...and that whole bullshyt subgenre is based off of one dancehall riddim.

Shabba Ranks.
Jamaican brehs brought Dancehall to the English speaking/Caribbean part of Panama, bilingual black folks latched on and "Hispanicized" it, and then migos took it over.
Be inclusive, brehs.

Anybody with half a brain acknowledges where reggaeton really originated. The OG latino artists always cite 90s reggae artists as influences.

So, not sure why you’re trying to make it seem like it was appropriation, where it was stolen from jamaicans and made as an original idea of latino artists.

The fact that reggaeton and now “latin trap” are huge all over the Americas is more a testament to the sizes of the countries they are hugely popular in. They’ve made it into the latino pop music the way hip hop is practically American pop because of its popularity.
