I didn't watch the video.

But based on a piece of the caption he is correct

Cortisol is a result of stress.

Anyone with a lick of sense knows what cortisol does to the body and how the body responds to it.

Just like you can't out run a bad diet. You aren't going out work and negate the effects of cortisol.

Bmore stand up!
To an extent cardio does prevent certain people from losing weight….CERTAIN people… and it’s heavily dependent on the rest of your diet, genetics and sleep…. I would explain but I don’t feel like taking out the time to do it cuz I know some smart-dumb nikka on this board is gonna try and tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about 🙄

He's using a sensational title but it's largely true

People trying to lose weight tend to go nuclear with cardio thinking it's a 1:1 fat burning machine when it's severely diminishing returns. Women fall into this thinking a lot where they think "the harder I run the more fat I'll burn".

Cardio is not for fat burning, it's for heart/blood health, hence the name. When you overdo the cardio you're burning muscle which burns before fat does. This is why a lot of cardio junkies look flabby with no muscle tone looking like they're on Ozempic :russ:

Burning fat is more about your passive metabolism, which can be developed through strength training. The more muscle you have the more fat you'll passively burn

Nikkas reacting like he's saying "cardio is bad" when he's not. Nikkas got effectively click baited:russ:

Yo bytch bedroom / PITTSBURGH
I used to do cardio (mainly running) at the gym after i lifted and I never really lost much weight from it. Then one day I had to be honest with myself that I was bout to get an induction to Larry Holmes Garden if I aint make some changes :flabbynsick::flabbynsick:

So bout 6 months ago I started counting calories and being consistent keeping it under my maintenance amount and in those 6 months I lost bout 20-25 pounds, (from 225-230 to about 205 now) kept all my strength and dropped my body fat from like 18-20% to now around 11% or so. I still do some cardio occasionally, but its mainly just some light work on the elliptical, no long ass running sessions like I used to do

I aint saying that cardio is bad......but for me personally making changes to my diet was wayyyyy more effective for losing body fat

As someone who is sub 10% bodyfat, he's right for people like me...

At my point you want fullness and roundness and to see the separation. Too much cardio, even fasted cardio sometimes gave me less of that look I was actually looking for. It actually can hurt muscle.

now if you are a fatty. 20% bodyfat and up...then yeah you are not going to notice what im talking about either way lol

So if I do want to increase blood flow and get my heart going a bit. I only do like...5 min of a hiit. And thats it.

Theres a reason why bodybuilders typically cut cardio a week out from a show entirely.

So it depends on if you are also prioritizing an aesthetic or not.

But high cortisol isnt good for sex either...ifykyk
