Hearing that song all over the radio at time when I was 14 and in denial of my sexuality at the time, it was a horrible feeling. That feeling of self loathing that I would wish on nobody. Even worse, being around other people who were homophobic and singing this shyt and feeling all scared like what if they knew I was fronting about being straight, would they fukk me up? And to top it off, being of Jamaican heritage too. So yeah, that shyt is my culture and feeling rejected because of it.
