No way a man like Carlito would've let that nikka from Bronx get away. :why: That nikka would've travelled to Bahamas to "rent" a car a couple of years later and people like Carlito know it the best.

Some lazy writing in this movie. This shyt can't be considered a classic. :smh:

It's a classic breh, and the writing isn't lazy. A person like Carlito wouldn't even acknowledge Benny Blanco as a threat, that was the point. He seen him as a peon....that's the type of shyt that gets you killed.

Nah if you remember, he said in the Narration " I wouldve killed him, but I'm not about that life anymore." The movie was good as fukk though you gotta admit.

here we go again :snoop:

damn whats with the hate for Carlito's Way on this forum?

This is not hate, I liked the acting but this shyt is just :what:.

It doesn't matter that he is no more about that life. It doesn't matter that he wants to stay clean. Such experienced man as him knows that it either him or the other guy, no matter how small the other guy is. Its their daily job to kill other people for fukks sake. :why:

Do you remember any questioned man in The Sopranos who walked out alive? Tony even killed his nephew cos he knew that sooner or later he would want the throne. This goes for any nikka in the game who starts to make noises.

And here we are talking about some upcoming drug dealer from Bronx. :what: This is one of the basic rules of the game, you or other man. And this movie is about the game and it fails to portray it accurately.

Do you understand what I am trying to say? :leostare:

Did you watch it?

When you can't see the angles no more, you're in trouble, baby. You're in trouble.

:snoop:

Tony killed Christopher because he was on drugs again, was unreliable, afraid that the Feds would exploit his drug habits, and there was a fukking baby car seat support in the back impaled with a tree branch.

Before Chris became a problem he was one of Tony's most trusted and groomed to be his successor.

As for Carlito's Way, the point of the movie is that criminals or ex-criminal sometimes you just can't up and leave the street life. shyt chases you down no matter what.

Carlito isn't god, he doesn't have a fukking crystal ball, doesn't read tarot cards and for a man who was trying to turn a new leaf and with other shyt in his head, he can't see and doesn't have the time to see every bad shyt coming his way.

I didn't even think Benny Blanco was going to be a problem till the end.

Exactly....Carlito wasn't tryna forge a new relationship with an up-and-comer...he was tryna retire....but you can't retire :sadcam:

Plus there's the generational dynamic. Most OG's naturally don't respect YG's cuz the don't appreciate how the game has changed. He viewed Benny as a punk, cuz in his day, Benny would've been a punk....but it was a new day.

That's true of many industries. Look at the rap game. Most of those OG rappers who shyt on new school shyt fall by the wayside, while cats like Jay, Snoop, and Short Dogg who roll with punches continue to eat well.
