Steph Curry would not have as much freedom to fail, learn and get better in NY compared to Oakland.

Knicks in mid to late 00s were at the lowest point. The fans were angry, the media was angry (as usual) and they were desperate to start winning. The Amare signing was also a sort of desperation because medical staff told that Amare had maybe couple elite years left in him and that's exactly what happened in his career. They knew red flags and still signed him up.

11-12 was the season when Curry missed most of it. So if the same happens in NY, you got Curry out for the rest of the season, Amare starting to miss a lot of games too, Melo and Chandler doing their thing but not enough role players left to help them. The media would be roasting Curry first.

By the year 2013 Amare was damn near finished. Would Curry, Melo. Chandler, Smith and few veteran role players be enough to beat peak Miami Heat? Nope.

By the year 2014 the Knicks didn't even make the playoffs with guys like Tyson starting to fall off as well. I mean they signed garbage like Bargnani that year lol, while Miami Heat were still strong in the eastern conference.

2014-2015 would be another animal with dealing with the Bron Cavs who had Kyrie and Kevin Love. It would come down to what the Knicks could sign to help Steph and Melo get to the championship. shyt, Knicks might even end up with no championship with Curry.
