I don't necessarily agree with "Melo is overrated" but of the compared names, the last 3 of the 5 would get a good deal of pushback if they were named Top 10 at their position (depending what position Gasol is listed).

Those aren't comparable names.

Melo isn't overrated he just chose money over a legacy. He had an opportunity to go to a team that could be a contender but chose the knicks instead

Yep they were already one of the best defenses in the league so it would have been a great fit with him as the primary scoring option while his teammates covering for his weaknesses on defense

it aint that suprising he never made 1st team

He is a great scorer but he never even got to the finals or made first team all NBA, was there any year of carmelo career you could argue he was top 5 in the league? The best argument is his scoring title year and even that is very debatable as well

Idk about their age, but it wasn't as late. They were all very elite

2009 Dirk was the latest Dirk got over him, 2007 for Duncan, 2008 when that big 3 team happened for KG. That is just tough to beat, those guys are all top 20 players of all time
