1. That Stephon Marbury bs is a poor excuse. I can see Melo and his team dropping little bits like this to the media to make his eventual departure from NY seem a tad more plausible.Carmelo Anthony could be motivated by the treatment of Stephon Marbury by both the New York Knicks' organization and fans to leave the team in free agency.
Marbury sat four rows behind the Knicks' bench on Christmas Day, his first visit to Madison Square Garden in three years.
“He saw Marbury get heckled by some fans on Christmas,’’ one source told The Post. “He doesn’t want to be the next Marbury. He’s very sensitive.”
If the Knicks continue to spiral, Anthony will be the face of those troubles regardless of his production.
The Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Chicago Bulls are on his short list, according to a source. The Lakers have cap space, but a reunion with Mike D'Antoni would be unappealing.
The Clippers would need to acquire Anthony via a trade.
Anthony's preference is to remain with the Knicks if he sees a solid plan in place.

2. The destinations basically boil down to 3 questions. 1) Would the Lakers be willing to fire D'Antoni to open the doors for a Carmelo Anthony signing. If so, I believe the Lakers would have a pretty decent chance of landing him considering him and Kobe have great on and off -court chemistry. The Clippers would probably be equally as tempting to him. Chris Paul and Melo would be intriguing but 2) would the Clippers be willing to give up Blake Griffin in exchange for Melo. The reality is Blake Griffin is 6 years younger than Melo, and has shown impressive growth over the years and especially this year. And at 24, he's not even in his prime! Melo is in his prime and has peaked as a player. His offensive abilities are elite and you have to wonder how lethal of a scorer he can be with CP3 and shooters. 3) And Im pretty sure Melo is outta there. He'll listen to the front office for a solid plan in the offseason but he knows they cant provide anything tangible. They lack assets and their roster/salary cap situation is absolutely terrible. They can not sign any decent free agent with their current cap situation, the Denver Nuggets own their lottery pick, and there are no combinations of players on the rosters that can land them a difference maker for Carmelo. So, Im sure he's gone.
3. The Chicago Bulls are a dark horse imo. It wouldnt be a bad fit and I could see it working somehwat as long as the Bulls keep Noah.
