I'd think your miserable ass would be overjoyed at the idea of Melo leaving.
As opposed to giving him a max? Of course. Knicks should trade him though. The team is awful.

Melo will demand the max and Bledsoe will get close to it.If they get the league to approve a medical retirement for Nash, they're gonna have quite a bit of money, even with Kobe's deal.
Go to the Cavs. Kyrie/Waiters/Melo/Thompson/Embiid = Title.

What the hell make you think cavs bout to get Embiid?![]()
Does he have to take a slight paycut if he leaves the Knicks? I thought the CBA lowered a players salary if he left his current team.Melo will demand the max and Bledsoe will get close to it.
Lets say we sign Melo and Nash retires. How much would we have left to spend?
He's going to the Lakers, especially if the league lets them use a medical retirement on Nash and they clear his salary.
Next year's opening night roster:
Lowry or Bledsoe
Kobe
Ariza
Melo
Embiid
Lakers 2015 title lock.![]()

True, but you never know. He might just want to stay there too. I'd be fine with Lowry at PG.Bledsoe is restricted and the suns have already mentioned they will pay him whatever money necessary to keep him.

Knicks can offer 118 million over five years (7.5% annual increase) vs the Lakers $87.6 million over four years (4.5% annual increase).Does he have to take a slight paycut if he leaves the Knicks? I thought the CBA lowered a players salary if he left his current team.
If the cap is around $59 million, Kobe eats up $23.5 and Melo would be around $20 million, so they'd have another $15 million to toss around. I wouldn't pay Melo that much, but I'm sure they'll offer it.
Not happening.. Blake is back in beast mode. F*ck a trade, we'll just wait til he's a free agent. Unless the Knicks want DJ, the rookie Bullock and some picks for MeloClippers would be fools to give up blake for melo imo...
