I'm the biggest Nas Stan on these boards and I OWN every Jay-Z album minus the R.Kelly collabs.

You can think Nas is the greatest while appreciating and listening to Jay. If you can't then that's fukking retarded.


As far as Carmen is concerned I don't think it's stretch to say that most anything she says should be taken with a HUGE grain of salt. I read her book, and while the Pre-fame portion mostly adds up (she and Nas were together BEFORE he was famous, Illmatic hadn't even begun production and he was unsigned) some of the later stuff comes off overly sensationalized. Like in the book she makes it seem like Jay-Z had time for her every whim and fancy. She could just drop by and see him whenever, call him whenever, hang out whenever. Considering that as of 1998 that Jay was a multiplatinum artist dropping albums once a year, touring, and managing Roc-A-Fella this rings false. She also seems to place herself at GREAT importance within the battle, as if Jay was in love with her and trying to "win" her from Nas, which again in the context of the actual battle rings false.

Exactly. And what war is this suppose to be that these Jay Z fans speak of? They act as if Nas wants the same thing Jay does, or that he's trying to chase the same thing Jay does. And he's not. He's totally fine living his life how he's living it. They are complete opposites who want different things in life. So what war?

Boy I tell you if I was Nas I would have sent that last child support payment as a bag of pennies dipped in dog shyt. This bytch ain't got no more payments coming and doing whatever she can to get bread.

Perhaps that's why she's rehashing this stuff.

And Carmen? If your angry enough to "allegedly" smack a woman up, why not end it sooner or be with her at all? Why propose to a broad who you know yourself is sketchy already? And Mary J Blige...."technically" speaking she is a bit better than the other two(Carmen and Kelis) but why would you even date or attempt to get serious with a woman who at the time was still going through a crack/drug addiction?

Accept defeat and move on..it's okay to like both Nas and Jay-Z. It's evident that Nas doesn't have Jay's business acumen, but at the same time doing ONLY music wasn't Jay's mission anyways...he always wanted to be Russell Simmons 2.0/Black Warren Buffet. Nas on the other hand continues to keep his lyrical exercise sharp in Hip Hop for 20 plus year while Jay, heavily invested in being a business brand, got flabby and sick with his.

First off there's plenty of rappers that own their own shyt, Even Luda has a private jet and liquor lines while Nas is doing spokesman gigs for hennesey which he vowed he would never do but since Kelis needs the money he did it.
