Everywhere...You never there.
once again...

Dan Johns still rapping?! It's literally been over a decade since he first started gaining traction in certain parts of SC. He loves the art, though. Glad to see he's staying true.

Best rhymer I ever heard outta SC was SAB YOUNG. Hands down.
Legend.

PEE DEE, Marion Co. stand up!

"Ain't nuthin' but land down here!"

Oh ok... Did you ever go to New Brookland Tavern in Columbia for Non-Stop Hip Hop Live...It was always organized by DJ Kingpin and DJ Skekese?

Those guys did a lot for underground SC hip-hop. They helped carry the torch. While B-Lord held down the mainstream end.

Young Shun — 25 New Producers To Watch Out For | Complex

25 New Producers To Watch Out For
By Michael Nguyen | Nov 5, 2012 | 2:38 pm
Young Shun

Twitter: @YoungShunBeats
From: Greenville, SC
Has Produced For: Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Yo Gotti
Signature Song: Rick Ross "911"
When Rick Ross' God Forgives, I Don't dropped this past summer, most weren't expecting to see Young Shun's name on the liner notes for one of the album's best cuts, "911." Now, after producing the standout record on Meek Mill's album, "Believe It," his appeal is more clear. The Carolina-bred producer is only known for his work with MMG for now, but expect him to move beyond their tutelage soon.

Pill ft Rick Ross, Tity Boi, Meek Mill, Yo Gotti, Gunplay - Pacman (Remix) - YouTube

In the Silver Lining
:why:

we got some shyt tho

I'll support this thread as a native North Cackalan

I got one main thing to say. That is that with all the black folks that populate North and South Carolina, there are so few acts that come from these states combined. The only one on OP's list I've seen is the Toro guy.
And North Carolina as far as national fame in the last 20 years (that I know of)......you have

Jodeci
Sunshine Anderson
Fantasia
Anthony Hamilton
Little Brother
Petey Pablo
J. Cole

:yeshrug:

that's it...not that there aren't other independent artist making great music, but yeah that's my point...

Nonetheless good thread.... :myman:
